Placing an Order

Shipping & Handling

Exact shipping and handling charges will be calculated during the checkout process and shown on the Order Summary under PLACING AN ORDER. Shipping cost is calculated on a "per pound" basis for USPS Standard Mail & USPS Priority Mail, based on a "fix rate" for USPS Priority Mail Flat-Rate Envelope, and based on weight & distance for the optional Express Mail. Handling fee includes order processing, labor, and material charges.

Domestic Orders

For orders less than 13 ounces, the shipping method is USPS Standard Mail, which typically takes 4 to 8 business days to arrive.  Delivery Confirmation is included, which provides information about the date and time the package was delivered, and if delivery was attempted but not successful, the date and time of the delivery attempt. The products will be shipped in a secured self-mailer envelope. For orders between 13 ounces & 2 pounds, USPS Priority Mail Flat-Rate Envelope w/ Delivery Confirmation is the method of shipment with delivery time of 2 to 3 business days. For orders greater than 2 pounds, USPS Priority Mail w/ Delivery Confirmation is the method of shipment with delivery time of 2 to 3 business days. Insurance is optional but highly recommended; it provides coverage against loss, damage, or theft.  Please see Table 1 below for insurance coverage and fees. Registered Mail is optional but highly recommended; items that are sent with Registered Mail are placed under tight security from the point of mailing to the point of delivery and insured up to $25,000 against loss or damage.  In addition, the date and time of delivery and the delivery attempts can be verified online. Please see Table 2 below for Registered Mail fees.  If you would like either option, please contact us. Express Mail is optional; it guarantees overnight to two-day service which includes tracking, proof of delivery, and insurance up to $100. Additional insurance may be purchased as per Table 1. Please watch your mail for your package to arrive or a pick-up notice within the expected time frame.  You may be required to pick up your package at the post office (shipper) or at the building manager's office if you live in an apartment complex.  It's your responsibility to contact your local post office (shipper) if your package hasn't arrived within the expected time frame.  Occasionaly, a package is unclaimed and returned to us.  As long as the products are returned to us undamaged and unopened, we will give you a refund less shipping & handling and any fees imposed by USPS (shipper) on us. 

International Orders

For orders less than 3.5 ounces, the shipping method is USPS Standard Mail International and for orders between  3.5 ounces and 2 pounds, the shipping method is USPS Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope.  Both shipping methods usually take 6 to 10 business days to arrive at the country of destination.  Please allow between 3 days to 2 weeks for the package to clear customs. Please note that Insurance and Delivery Confirmation (online tracking) are not available on the USPS Standard Mail International and USPS Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope.  Registered Mail is optional but highly recommended; it provides additional protection and security in dispatch and conveyance in the United States. For each registered item, a mailing receipt is issued by the office of mailing and a record of delivery is maintained at the office of destination.  In the United States, Registered Mail items are handled separately from all other mail and are kept in a secure area with restricted access. In destination countries, Registered Mail items are handled according to their own internal procedures.  The registry fee for all countries is $10.80 and regardless of the declared value of the registered item, the maximum amount of indemnity payable for loss, damage or rifling is $45.51.  If you would like this option, please contact us. If you prefer another shipping method, please let us know.  Please read the Disclaimer and Assumption of Risk down below before placing an order.

For orders greater than 2 pounds, the shipping method is USPS Priority Mail International which usually takes 6 to 10 business days to arrive at the country of destination. Please allow between 3 days to 2 weeks for the package to clear customs.  Please note that Delivery Confirmation (online tracking) is not available on the USPS Priority Mail International.  However,  this shipping method includes, free of charge, an Ordinary Indemnity which provides coverage against loss, damage, or theft. Please read "Priority Mail International Ordinary Indemnity Coverage" and see Tables 3 & 4 below.  An Ordinary Indemnity is a built-in insurance which may or may not cover the actual value of the package.  It's your responsibility to determine if the ordinary indemnity coverage is adequate or if insurance purchase is needed.  You can contact us for the weight of your package in order to determine your ordinary indemnity coverage or you can assume a conservative value of $60 for it.  For example, if the value of the package is $98, then it would be advisable to purchase insurance with a coverage limit of $100 (Table 4).  Without insurance, your package would only be covered up to the ordinary indemnity of $60 if it were to get lost, damaged, or stolen.  However, if the value of the package is only $40, then no insurance purchase is needed since it would be covered by the Ordinary Indemnity. In this case, you could only claim the declared content value, which is $40 since it is less than the ordinary indemnity coverage.  Please contact us if you need some clarification on this.  Registered Mail is not available on the USPS Priority Mail International, and we highly recommend insuring the package.  If you would like this option, please contact us.  If you prefer another shipping method, please let us know. Priority Mail International Ordinary Indemnity Coverage

Indemnity coverage is provided for all ordinary (uninsured) Priority Mail International (flat-rate envelope not included) items. This coverage is provided at no additional charge and protects mailers against loss, damage or missing contents. Coverage is calculated based on the weight of the parcel or the value of the contents of the parcel whichever is less. Mailers may still purchase insurance for a fee to many countries. When insurance is purchased, it replaces the indemnity coverage provided on ordinary Priority Mail International parcels. Addressee is the payee on claims for ordinary Priority Mail International items delivered in damaged condition or with contents missing, if addressee accepts delivery of the item. If addressee waives right to payment, in writing, or the item is returned to the sender, the sender is then eligible to file the claim. Coverage is limited to the actual value of contents or the maximum indemnity based on the weight of the article, whichever is less.

Disclaimer & Assumption of Risk

If USPS Insurance or Registered Mail is available and you forgo it, you're assuming all the risk of your package getting stolen, lost, or damaged in  transit. This assumption of risk also applies if USPS Insurance or Registered Mail is not available and you choose not to go with another shipping method that offers Insurance or Registered Mail.  Nerissa Manlulu Enterprises is not responsible for loss, damage, theft, or confiscation of package in transit and by placing an order, you agree not to hold us responsible. I personally hand deliver the packages to the local post office, and once a package leaves my hands, what happens to it next  is beyond my control. Even though I disclaim any financial responsibility, I may assist you in filing and documenting your claim for loss, damage, or theft should it occur.  This disclaimer also applies to packages sent via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.


Quality Assurance Control on Outgoing Packages

As part of our ongoing effort to improve customer service and satisfaction, we have decided to perform quality assurance on multiple purchases or products purchased in sets. This means that before a package is shipped out, our Quality Assurance (QA) inspector will check its contents for imperfections or defects and verify the amounts and types of products shown on the invoice. Basically, the QA inspector will check the work of the packer. Once the package passes the QA test, the invoice will be stamped and initialed by the QA inspector. The original stamped invoice will be enclosed with the package to be shipped out and a copy will be retained for our records. By going through this process, we believe that you'll be a very satisfied customer since you'll get exactly what you order from us.

A brief explanation of why the product didn't fill your needs or meet your expectations isn't necessary, but I would greatly appreciate it so that I can improve customer satisfaction. The address to return the package will be given to you. Please use the original packaging or use something similar and include the invoice with the product. For your protection, I highly recommend insuring your return and sending it via USPS with delivery confirmation. Fees for the return shipment are non-refundable.
